Grounded

Sometimes I look to the sky,
A tear rolls down my face.
I get choked up,
Longing to be high up in that special place.

I was born in the air,
My spirit soaring free.
Being in an airplane
Is where I am most ME.

My wings have been clipped,
My time in the air short lived.
Aviation was my mistress,
Oh how she loved to give.
